Redmi 4A : launched in India

Xiaomi in an event launched its new phone Redmi 4A in India. It seems like the company is aiming to grab the entire smartphone market in India although company already has a low specced smartphone. They have brought a new Entry level smartphone cheaper than its previous one’s, to extend its roots much deeper in the Indian market.

This phone had already be unveiled, in November where it was launched with its better sibling Redmi 4. Now it has been brought in the Indian market.

Design

Redmi 4A is a phone is a unibody metal device just as it’s predecessor. the build quality looks and feels like metal but it’s actually good quality plastic with a metallic coat on top. It appears premium phone in hand.
Flat back, little curves nothing flashy which intern makes it elegant.

Display

The Redmi 4A comes with a small 5-inch IPS LCD display, with an HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). There is no clue about the protection, there are chances of being none at all. The smartphone has a good Vivid display compared to other in this range. Colors are bright and contrast also looks fine.

Hardware

The phone looks pretty much good in terms of hardware. As it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. For a good graphic performance, the phone has Adreno 308 GPU. the Phone has up to 128Gb expandable storage with hybrid sim slot.

The phone has 13MP primary shooter on the back and a 5MP secondary shooter.

Software

The phone runs on android 6.0 marshmallow based MiUI 8. This software has a bunch of features within with a set level of optimization, which improves its battery life and phone usage.

Verdict

The phone has some crisp features to offer for a lower segment phone currently available, with a sturdy design the phone looks a great competitor to other phones available in +-1000  rs Range. But, in some parts phone lack the Xiaomi punch that it’s phone carries. It could have been improved, but maybe cost cutting is the reason. Otherwise, The phone is very good but will readily prefer Redmi 3s over it.

Price and Availablity

It will be available for sale on 23 March 2017 at 12 noon on Mi.com and Amazon India for Rs 5,999(Gold and Silver colors) and the Rose Gold will be available from April 6th.
