Apple iPhone SE (2020) to be Made in India

Apple recently launched the iPhone SE (2020), the beauty of the classic iPhone and brains of the latest iPhone. The company has set the price tag of the smartphone to compete with the entry-level premium android phones. Apple has saved a large amount of expenditure in R&D which has led to the phone being lighter on the pocket.

Apple has asked its Chinese supplier to manufacture to send the components of iPhone SE to Wistron India. It will help the company to avoid Tax on import of the phone in India.  Apple is all set to start the production of iPhone SE in India from July as per the report. Market analysts mentioned that the company has taken this step to reduce by 20% of taxes on importing the assembled model in India.

The firm was already producing iPhone XR, iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S in the Indian production facility.

The new iPhone SE is priced at Rs 42,500 in India which seems less for an iPhone but is way cheaper in the US markets as the phone costs Rs 30000 in the US market.

Assembling of iPhone SE in India:-

1.Pre-production of SE-

Apple had assembled previous-generation iPhone SE in India as the first Indian manufacture phone. The company has carried out a various meeting with Bengaluru Wistron for the production. However, they have been continually working with Foxconn’s manufactures for the production of the phone.

2. Greater demand-

As per the report by Counterpoint Research says that the dispatch of iPhones 11 has been increased by 78% in 2019. High demand for iPhone XR and 11 in the Indian market so likewise is also expected for the new iPhone SE.

3. Setting online/offline store-

The reports said that the CEO of Apple Mr Tim cook has confirmed for setting an online store this year. He also mentions about the offline store to be put up in 2021. This set by the company will help them in settling domestic manufacturing very conveniently.
