OnePlus 5T launched: Fancy upgrade to Oneplus 5

Oneplus, Launched it’s flagship killer for 2017 early this year. But, the competition in the market made Oneplus upgrade it’s existing flagship killer. Oneplus launched the new Oneplus 5T, which is more like old Oneplus 5 but with some bigtime fancy tweaks.

Oneplus 5T incorporates the latest trend of bezel-less display and facial-recognition.


The Oneplus 5T has a minimum bezel design with Samsung’s OLED display. The smartphone has a 1080 x 2160 resolution with super widescreen 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, The smartphone features Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with 6 or 8GB RAM options. The phone is powered by a 3300 mAh battery with fast charging support.

On the camera segment, The phone features a new reworked dual camera setup which 16mp+20mp where the secondary camera is a low light camera. Which gives crisp images with low-light.
Fingerprint scanner moves to back this time with lesser gestures but enabling to click photos.

The new Oneplus 5T has a taller size thanks to its 6 Inch OLED display, Rest there are no major changes. The fingerprint has moved towards REAR. The smartphone except the premium finish looks like Mi A1 from the back. While the bezels from the front have been reduced.


The new smartphone features 6 inches AMOLED display with 1080 x 2160 resolution with super widescreen 18:9 aspect ratio. Giving a 401 PPI density which is same as the previous generation. The colors are crisper this time.

Facial Recognition

The new Oneplus 5T offers Facial recognition feature. The smartphone unlocks when the saved face-print looks on it. This is very similar to the likes of iPhone X, Samsung Note 8.


The new Oneplus comes equipped with a second low-light camera. both the main sensor, which remains unchanged from the OnePlus 5, and the new one have lenses with a f/1.7 aperture on them, so plenty of light can get in when you tap the shutter. OnePlus says that in scenarios of very low light, the 5T will automatically switch to its secondary

New gestures and Navigation

The earlier Oneplus used buttons for Navigation and even had the option to switch to Home button gestures for control. But as there is no button at the front the phone offers navigation bar plus new gesture set for easy one-handed control.

Rest on the software and hardware front, The phone is pretty much similar to Oneplus 5.

Price and Availablity of OnePlus 5T


Oneplus 5T price is exactly the same as the OnePlus 5’s, which means you’re looking at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB+64GB model and Rs 37,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant. Initially, the phone will be available in Midnight black version but the company may introduce White version soon.

OnePlus 5T

The handset will be available from November 21 in the India, along with US, UK and Europe, China, and Hong Kong. It will be exclusively available on Amazon India.
