OnePlus 3T to be available in India until “later this year”

OnePlus 3T

Yesterday, OnePlus tweeted out saying those who wanted to get their hands on the OnePlus 3T should grab it while it is still available. The reason being the stocks running out and the company geared up the OnePlus 5 launch.

However, it seems like the OnePlus 3T will only get discontinued in North America, Europe, and Hong Kong. The company has said the smartphone will be available in India till “later this year”. It will be on sale on all three of their channels. Amazon India, OnePlus Online store and OnePlus Experience store in Banglore.

OnePlus will discontinue its flagship device because it’s gearing up to announce its successor. The OnePlus 5 is expected to be officially revealed sometime this summer, probably at the end of June or in July.

The reason why the OnePlus 3T will still be available in India has probably something to do with the price. The OnePlus 5 is expected to be more expensive than its predecessors. The company might want some cheaper alternative for their customers.

Price is one of the most important factors in India. OnePlus wants to make sure its sales in India don’t decrease because of the higher price tag of its upcoming flagship. On paper it sounds like a excellent strategy specially if they manage to decrease the price of the OnePlus 3T. Will it actually work will have to wait and see.

Would you consider buying the OnePlus 5 if it will be more expensive than its predecessor? Or you will stick with the OnePlus 3T? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
