Micromax Selfie 2 with Front Flash and more Goes Official

Micromax, an Indian smartphone maker, is known to reveal smartphones silently. Following that trend, the company launched the Micromax Selfie 2 yesterday. While the price and availability is unknown, the details about the smartphone went live on the company’s website yesterday. The best thing about the device apart from the name suggesting the great front camera is fingerprint sensor and Android Nougat out of the box.

The Selfie 2 has a sturdy metallic body with a on screen buttons and a rear mounted fingerprint sensor below the front camera. The volume and power buttons are at their usual positions. One thing to mention is that the device is offered with a 100 days replacement policy from the day of activation along with the standard one-year warranty.

Micromax didn’t reveal all of the specifications but the Micromax Selfie 2 is listed to run on Android Nougat out of the box, bringing all the latest features like multi-window view, reply in notification panel, enhanced doze mode, and much more. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core SoC coupled with 3 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

All of this is powered by a  3000 mAh battery.

The Selfie 2’s selfie camera is a 8 MP f/2.0 aperture camera with a real-time bokeh effect. It has features like beauty shot and much more. At the rear, there is a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash support, f/2.0 aperture, and it supports features like auto scene detection and panorama.

While the price and rest of the specifications aren’t known about the device quite yet, it is safe to say that with the MediaTek MT6737 processor, the device should be a great performer but will not satisfy in day to day multitasking tasks. The price we can say for a phone with these specifications can be around ₹7000-₹8000. And for that price, the Micromax Selfie 2 will make a great device to own and use.
