iPhone X announced with no home button and a long wait

Apple today announced the launch of possibly the most awaited smartphone of the year. As Apple Inc. celebrates 10 years of iPhones in 2017, it launched 3 new iPhones-the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X. Apple also introduced the new iWatch at the event in California.

Most Unique iPhone ever

iPhone X

The iPhone X is nothing like any iPhone in the last ten years. It is the most drastic and complete redesign of the iPhone to ever happen. The device features a 5.8-inch Super Retina edge-to-edge OLED display. This display has a resolution of 1125×2436, which gives the pixel density of 458PPI, the display is reportedly made by Samsung. Since the screen takes up the whole front of the smartphone, the home button is scrapped for the iPhone X. Most features of the home button are transferred to the power button on the side. Which means to use Siri, just Long-press the “side-button”.  The iPhone X will also be the first smartphone from Apple to support wireless charging and will be dust and water resistant.

Most Powerful processor in a Smartphone ever

Apple iPhone X is powered by the newest processor, the A11 Bionic. Apple reckons A11 is the most powerful chip ever to find its way inside a smartphone.  The A11 Bionic is powered by a 64-Bit architecture which is run with M11 motion coprocessor. The A11 is coupled with 3 gigs of RAM. With the scrapping of Touch-ID, Apple has developed a new biometric security feature called the FaceID. The FaceID uses the TrueDepth of the camera to project and analyze above 30,000 dots to create a precise map of your face.

Camera on iPhone X

The iPhone X features a dual 12-megapixel setup at the back consisting of a Wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/1.8 and a telephoto lens of aperture f/2.4. Both lenses have Optical Image stabilisation. The front of the device has a 7-megapixel sensor which has an aperture of f/2.2.

Availablity and Price

Getting your hands on the iPhone X would be a tough job even if you would be able to afford the price of the iPhone X. The X will be available in 2 storage options, 64GB variant and a 128GB variant. The 64GB version will be available at a price of $999 while the 128GB version will be available at $1,149. The pre-booking will start from October of 27th and the shipping will start even later on November 3.
