Cloud Computing and it’s future?
Every internet based application uses cloud computing. Many times, we use it unknowingly. Be it for sending e-mails, editing documents or even storing photos-all these actions involve the concept. IBM defines it as “Cloud computing, often referred to as simply “the cloud,” is the delivery of on-demand computing resources—everything from applications to data centers—over the internet on a pay-for-use basis.” Basically, it refers to storing of large amount of data(centralised) using the internet.
ADVANTAGES of Cloud Computing
One of the major advantages of cloud computing is the fact that companies don’t have to fear loss of data due to any physical damage to computer. Information can be easily accessed from any source.
The up-gradation costs of cloud computing is very less. Not just large business but even small businesses can easily afford it. It reduces the infrastructural and operational costs. The best part about it is you only pay for what you are using.
Majority of the applications now a days are being developed on and through cloud computing. A large variety of career prospects have emerged from this field like Cloud developers, cloud analysts, cloud engineer to name a few.
DISADVANTAGES of Cloud Computing
However, many still feel that cloud is not the best form of support for storing. Since, cloud computing is still in its early years, not much has been developed in it. Even though it has made storing of information easy, the security of the information with its provider is still a huge mystery. With cyber-crimes increasing day by day, the probability of our stored information staying safe is very bleak.
Cloud computing is all about your access to internet. So if you have no internet connection then accessing or string of data is not possible. Also the cloud service providers have a large number of users everyday and thus, the data storing may also take time.
FUTURE of Cloud Computing
It can be said that Amazon’s Web Services was one of the first major development for cloud computing. Almost a decade and half later, it has become a household technology even still in its initial stage. Hence it can be easily said that the future of it is going to be a big tech innovation. With the arrival of IOT (Internet of Things), it has again become a trending topic.
It has become the heart of IT services. Cloud Computing is no child’s play, but still its ease of usage, flexibility and reduction in operational costs has put this tech in very high demand. It may soon become one of the building blocks or the basic infrastructure for digital transformation.
