BlackBerry DTEK 60 Leaked; Looks like a rebranded TCL 950

Blackberry’s recent decision was to focus on software and license manufacturing that means they will shift completely on software and license other manufactures to make devices for them. Blackberry’s latest offering The DTEK 50 was a rebranded Alcatel idol 4 so when the images of The DTEK 60 surfaced, its resemblance with the TCL 950 could not be ignored.

The images of the rumoured DTEK60 come to us courtesy of  Evan ‘evleaks’ Blass. The phone’s design seems to similar to the recently released device by TCL (known better in the western world by the name Alcatel) — the TCL 950.

Unfortunately there are no specs leaked but the TCL 950 is already out we can guess the specifications of the DTEK 60. There is a good chance this is nothing but a rebranded device launched by blackberry to promote their software. The display on the TCL 950 is a 5.5″ FHD AMOLED display. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage along with expandability up to 128GB. The phone bears a 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, and a USB Type-C port. The device also sports a convenience key on the side(Typical Blackberry). The camera is a 21MP Sony IMX230 with f/2.2 on the rear and a 8MP shooter with f/2.2 on the front.

The DTEK60 is rumored to sport a QHD display which is different from the TCL 950’s FHD display. Further, there might be changes on the storage and other features but the core powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC is likely to remain intact.

A listing for the device popped up on NICX, a Canadian online retailer conforming all the specs with a price tag of 699.99 CAD(~Rs 35495, $533.31). The price might change after the official announcement but it gives a rough estimation of the price. The device being unofficial as of now ordering it through NICX wouldn’t be a good option.
